Version 2499 was committed by steve on Sat, 23 Feb 2013 House numbers, edge cases Including zero. However a zero does not show up on the map. But it otherwise works - number 2 is a little further down the road as you would expect - it just doesn't display the number zero. In all or most parts of the world zero is not a valid house number, so this is more about preventing a crash on invalid data.

Exception when creating bounds

memory requirements for generating planet bounds

as per http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Mkgmap/help/options#Using_preprocessed_b… , i tried to generate bounds myself from a planet boundary extract (prepared with osmconvert/osmfilter like in the instructions on the same page). java -cp mkgmap.jar uk.me.parabola.mkgmap.reader.osm.boundary.BoundaryPreprocessor <inputfile> <boundsdirectory> that run out of the heap space of 2300 megs. before i try experimenting further, how much heap space is required for creating planet bounds from boundary extract ? :) -- Rich

Profile for routes

With maps made with mkgmap Basecamp does profiles for tracks but not for routes (height data from contours) But I have made a map using the same existing img files from mkgmap and adding some forest tracks made with gpsmapedit/cgpsmapper and combining them with Gmaptool to make a new map and I now have profiles for routes as well. It would appear that Gmaptool does something that mkgmap does not for route profiles. PATCH v1: highwayCount

Hi , attached is a patch that reduces the img size. Up to now, mkgmap created many so called CoordNodes when a road and e.g. a building shared an OSM node. This is not needed and was not intended. As far as I know it just blows up the size of the img file (typically ~500kb for each tile). The patch reduces the amount of CoordNodes and also cleans some dead code around the highwayCount. Hi Wanmil Given that this excellent new address tool seems to be based on the min max values of housenumbers , I wonder how difficult is to use house numbers in addr:interpolation ? As a bonus you are given the odd & even values. It can be enabled with the undocumented parameter --x-housenumbers. It's not yet an official parameter because it handles only a small subset of housenumbers.
