Hi all, i am trying to import an osm europe map into Garmins Basecamp. I downloaded the europe-latest.osm.pbf from Geofabrik. Then i used the splitter with the following command. ``` java -Xmx20g -jar splitter-r653/splitter.jar --output=o5m --max-areas=4096 europe-latest.osm.pbf ``` It finished after writing a series of 2105 .o5m files. Garmin Tread img file issues with Place icons

Hi, I've recently moved from my Garmin Montana 700i to a Garmin Tread SxS Edition. I have found issues with the maps, and I wonder if anyone can help. The issue is that the place points for multiple tags from OSM are not displayed in the Garmin Tread, for example, shops, Gates/barriers, toilets, accommodation and others. This is clearly an issue with the Garmin Device, however if I can't find a way to fix it, it will render the use of custom, OSM maps in newer generations of garmin devices potentially unusable. Anyone has a "debug" OSM file that can be used to help with the investigation of this issue or any ideas about the issue? Cheers Joao

Rounding off population

Hi I have a feeling mkgmap rounds off population when a comma has been inserted thinking it is a 'continental decimal comma' In my style I have place=village & population < 30 {set place=hamlet;echotags "village to hamlet"} The following place node gets flagged up as it has been given a population of 1 https://www.openstreetmap.org/node/271408#map=18/50.82664/-1.70104 When I look at the osm tags it contains: population:1,350 Perhaps we should not round off population data? Commit r4910: Fix calculation of minimun resolution in overview map: Use same constant as in MapSplitter so that the tile selection polygon 0x4a is not split as this confuses the Garmin PC programs.

Trouble with merging IMG files (for Garmin)

Hi all, maybe I got that wrong but I thought I can merge multiple IMG files into a single one with Mkgmap. My problem is that I need a bunch of maps and my Garmin 64s only shows 12 in the map selection. A simple solution to this limitation is merging maps ;) Anyways, I gave Mkgmap a try but I get an error which I don't know how to interpret, since it's missing the input files but they are definitely in the folder. Do I maybe need the original OSM files as input files? In that case, the error message is probably wrong. styles and multipolygons

Hello I am rendering lines that are tagged NATURAL=VALLEY to show the name along a trasparent line on the map, using this style code: natural=valley { name '${name}' } [0x12005 resolution 21] It works, but gives a problem with multipolygons that use the same tag: I get the name all along the borders of the polygon, while I would want to see it only inside. Following the style manual (page 11) I am then trying with this code in LINES style file: natural=valley & !(is_in(type,multipolygon,on)) { name '${name}' } [0x12005 resolution 21] and this in POLYGON style file: natural=valley { name '${name}' } [0x10f09 resolution 21] It now works for multipolygons: I see the name only inside, and not along the boundaries. But doesn't work anymore for lines, meaning that I don't get the name anymore. What am I doing wrong ? Ferry line routing issue

Hello Community, I am struggling with an issue. I am generating Garmin map from OSM o5m sources(geofabrik) using the built-in style. Nor the BaseCamp or my Zümo 396LM is unable to calculate route via ferry lines. The behaviour is very strange, here is an example: Route from Lille to Dover, all avoidances are disabled: unable to calculate route, just a straigth line between the citie. If I am forcing the route inside the service road area of Calais ferry terminal, the route is calculated correctly. Even funnier, that when I shape the route directly to the ferry line, Basecamp swims me on the ferry instead of routing through the port. This behaviour is occuring with other ferry lines (for example Aberdeen - Lerwick). I have checked on openstreetmap and the roads are connected and routable in the style file. Meaning of some mkgmap output messages

Hello all I receive two types of messages when compiling some maps which I don't know how to interpret and if I should take any action to avoid them. First is of the form "(Area): 31177007.o5m: Area.split 1669081 4757504 1670337 4759552 res 11 can't 2 1" which is produced for tile 31177007: 1548288,4409344 to 1673216,4911104 from split file. In some cases the end is "1 2" instead of "2 1". The other one is of the form "Tile selection (0x4a) polygon for tile 25171101 cannot be written in level 0 resolution 20, using 18 instead" and is produced for tile with bounding box 1753088,-8343552 to 3555328,-5726208 from split file.
