[PATCH v1] - drive on left + roundabout direction checking

As suggested, moved from rhd to dol. Two options are now available --drive-on-left and --drive-on-right. By default, you should not have to specify either because mkgmap now determines the side of the road to drive on from the direction of the first roundabout it processes. But if you don't like its choice, you can specify one of these options to override it. Also, it now issues a warning for each roundabout it finds that appears to go in the wrong direction. I just got 720 warnings when I processed the GB map so either there is a problem with the code or there is a lot of duff roundabouts. I checked a handful of them and they were all wrong. Please give it a go and if you find any of the warnings to be wrong, please post the OSM URL of the roundabout in question. Mark

Streetname R....... Letter+Points

Hallo ! i change vom Release 1167 to 1188 and now the streetnames are only ONE letter and some points like R....... is it possible to reaktive to show the hole name ??? regards Jan :-)

Strict ordering of action in a style rule file.

Hi I have now made the change to introduce strict ordering to the action in a style rule file. Previously the actions where not triggered in any particular order and they were all run before any matching took place. In the new code, the actions are run strictly in the order that they occur in the file. Actions only affect matching of rules later in the file, never rules earlier. So for example if you have an element with highway=primary then the following set of rules will result in 0x2 and not 0x1 which would be the case currently. highway=primary {set marker=1} marker=2 [0x1] highway=primary {set marker=2} marker=2 [0x2] I've not looked at the performance and have one thing to do to possibly improve it, but the functionality is working as far as I can tell with some simple test. For everyone with complex rules, could you please give it a go. It is on the style branch in subversion, or you can download one I prepared earlier here: http://www.mkgmap.org.uk/snapshots/mkgmap-style.jar If you see any case where the rules and actions do not appear to run in the order that they appear in the file is a bug and should be reported. ..Steve

If the type has the continue attribute then searching is continued for further matches. As a result the one feature in OSM can result in more than one element in the map. These elements will be on top of each other (in the order found) and so can be used for stylistic effect along with a suitable type file. Also useful for ways that are tagged as two different kinds of things although this is not the perfect solution to that problem.

Splitter R97 needs additional package?

Hi, I just updated my Splitter to r97 from the svn, compiled it, started it and get the following error: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/xmlpull/v1/XmlPullParserException Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.xmlpull.v1.XmlPullParserException I understand, that the class XmlPullParserException is not found. I could not find it in the sources too. Does this mean that I need to download addtional packages and include them into my classpath?

Hiding railway tunnels and underground lines

The default style seems to display underground tracks on the city map. I find that a little confusing. Also, we have a 13.5-km harbour railway tunnel (http://fi.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vuosaaren_satamarata) nearby, most of which has not been mapped yet, most likely because it would have to be extrapolated heavily. Is there any reason to display railway tunnels on the Garmin map? Would routing work with invisible objects (not that Garmin would support a rail routing option, but perhaps it could make sense to hide long highway tunnels as well)? I can supply a patch for hiding railway tunnels, but I would like to point out that my patch for improving bus stop naming has been waiting to be applied for several weeks now.
