spurious data showing in Basecamp

Hi I am not sure if this is the place for this question. I have created a number of maps using the latest version of mkgmap. I then sent the maps to basecamp using mapsettoolkit as layer 25. Repeatedly, I see 1 specific issue. * If I install the map in basecamp as not transparent the map appears properly. * If I install the exact same map in basecamp as transparent, spurious lines appear. However, when I use Basecamp to install the maps on the Garmin, they show properly without the spurious data. Please see attached pdf showing Basecamp screenshots of the exact same area with the same dataset with the only change being the transparency setting. I have cleared the Basecamp cache over and over to no avail.. If this is not the correct place, would you please direct me to it. Thanks Bill * Windows 7 SP1 all updates 32 bit * Basecamp 4.6.2 * mkgmap dated 4-2-2016 * mapsettoolkit v1.77 * cgpsmapper 2.5.2

Hi Bill, I don't understand what "layer 25" means, but these "spurious" lines look like the result of the line simplification that is used for lower resolutions. Maybe you see the overview map ? The overview map is not transferrred to the GPS device. Hi Gerd My error in saying "layer 25"..... I intended draw priority 25. Here are 2 screenshots with Draw Priority 25 and overviewmap turned on. the first is transparent, the second is not transparent. The spurious lines show in both main window and overview in the first but not in the second. Would you guess that spurious data is showing up because of a problem 1. in my style file or typ files 2. in mapsettoolkit v1.77 3. in cgpsmapper 2.5.2 4. in mkgmap Any idea if I can correct on my end? Thanks so much. Bill On 7/28/2016 4:57 AM, Gerd Petermann wrote:

Hi Bill, I think this is problem in BaseCamp and Mapsource. What you see is overview map drown over detailed map. Since overview map is not transferred to GPS, map is correctly drown in device. Other peculiarity of Mapsource/BaseCamp is that routing doesn't work for transparent maps, while it works in GPS. I guess Garmin has never cared for transparent maps on PC. -- Best regards, Andrzej

Thanks Andrze. As you say, it does work properly on the Garmin GPS. I just wanted to be sure it was not something I had done or not done that was causing the problem. Bill On 7/29/2016 2:07 PM, Andrzej Popowski wrote:
