Hi Nick,

maybe you don't use r3612?  I've just downloaded the package
and tested with your file:
e:\ld>java -jar f:\dwnload\temp\mkgmap-r3612\mkgmap.jar --tdbfile f:\dwnload\temp\pois.mp
Time started: Sun Jun 07 05:38:58 CEST 2015
Number of MapFailedExceptions: 0
Number of ExitExceptions: 0
Time finished: Sun Jun 07 05:38:59 CEST 2015
Total time taken: 631ms

BTW: I think the options should be --index --gmapsupp when
testing on the device?

Gerd

Hi Gerd

Strange, but I'm glad its working for you

I use
java -Xmx1024m -ea -jar C:\A_UPL2~1\MKGMAP~1\MK0360~1\mkgmap.jar  --tdbfile K:\a_poit\pois.mp
pause

Couldn't remember how to uploads to mkggmap site so put pois.mp on

www.pinns.co.uk/osm/bits/pois.zip

Hi Nick,

The program works for me.

Please let me know your options in POI Tester
and send a link to your *.mp file.

Hi Gerd

I'm afraid not ; have just tried latest mkgmap and still get the border
pois with

SEVERE (MapArea): K:\A_POIT~1\pois.mp: Point with type 0x2a00 at
http://www.openstreetmap.org/?mlat=50.024300&mlon=9.976801&zoom=17 is
outside of the map area centred on
http://www.openstreetmap.org/?mlat=49.801090&mlon=10.588803&zoom=17
width = 57042 height = 20803 resolution = 24

Strangely , it always  refers to zoom=17 eventhough this was not
specified in the mp file.
