LineSizeSplitterFilter will split a way if it deems that its bounding box is too large. Unfortunately, this breaks routable ways so now we split them in StyledConverter so that the points where the ways are split become nodes. Includes some minor bug fixes in LineSizeSplitterFilter.

Hi, After some experiments with the hex editor I figured out that in the POI record the 2 byte "City index" field has dual meanings regarding the 0x8000 bit. Maybe if 0x8000 bit is set that means the poi has City index (Name, City, Region, Country) else that means the poi has region index only (Name, Region, Country). BR Anton Todorov

multipolygon relations with tags on the relation

I noticed that more and more forests where disappearing in my maps, trying to find out why I noticed that in many cases now the tags for a multipolygon are added to the relation and not anymore to the way itself. Currently this would mean that one has to duplicate more or less the whole polygon file inside the relations file, to catch those cases. It would be great if there could be a call in the relations file like "type=multipolygon {add all tags to way}" to handle this, instead of having to copy in all landuses and other potential tags into the relations file..

If neither of these options are specified, it is assumed that vehicles drive on the right unless --check-roundabouts is specified and the first roundabout processed is clockwise. --check-roundabouts Check that roundabouts have the expected direction (clockwise when vehicles drive on the left). Roundabouts that are complete loops and have the wrong direction are reversed.

--index option: files to drag to GMT for MS search

hi all, everything seems to be ok when i run mkgmap (v 1343) against my osm file (mdr & mdx created) but it's not clear for me which files to drag (all .img included osmmap? .tdb? .mdx?) to GmapTool window in order to activate search button in Mapsource. thx Gianmario

I see it is created with --index, and even have an option to switch it off.. Interesting is that the State / Province field in MS is no longer greyed out, but address search on the GPS still requires State / Province and can't find any. Another interesting thing is that Garmin's original map for my area asks for country when doing address search, then city, house number, street., Never state / province. That made me think that I corrupt my map's country data with --country-name & --region-name. So I tried without these options, but it has no effect, addess search, and also intersection search, still asks for State / province and can't find it. Did any one else with a Nuvi get address search to work on the GPS? Chris, have you tried to upgrade your software version? Maybe it will help. I don't want to do that, as I currently have the tracking facility on my device, and I know that Garmin removes it on SW updates. Next I want to try OpenMtbMap SouthAfrica - at the moment it doesn't download. BennieD

how to use geonames-file option?

I just thought I would like to use the geonames-file to set area-names. However I don't manage to do: I split with following command: java -Xmx4800m -jar splitter.jar --max-nodes=%maxnodes% --max-areas=128 --geonames-file=cities15000 --write-kml=testkml --mapid=%mapid%0000 %country%.osm Everything runs nicely here. testkml has entries like the following: <Placemark> <name>63650000</name> <styleUrl>#transWhitePoly</styleUrl> <description> <![CDATA[*AT*-*Innsbruck*]]> </description> <Polygon> <outerBoundaryIs> <LinearRing> <coordinates> 9.492188,46.669922 9.492188,47.812500 12.480469,47.812500 12.480469,46.669922 9.492188,46.669922 </coordinates> </LinearRing> </outerBoundaryIs> </Polygon> </Placemark> Now I would like that the file testkml is used to determine input-file for mkgmap and set the area name (if country-abbr is set also that is fine too as it is present in the kml file). No matter what options I give testkml is not used. Am I trying to do something which is not possible yet, or am I overlooking something (If I just feed mkgmap using the splittet files, output is indifferent whether or not I am using the geonames-file option on splitter)?
