[PATCH v1] Always use US locale for number formatting in ExtTypeAttributes

The ExtTypeAttributes which are used for marine maps should have a problem if the locale of the system does not use english number formatting (e.g. german uses "," as decimal separator). Attached patch fixes that. I cannot test it because the code is only executed with polish input files using the attribute "HeightAboveFoundation". Please test if you are able to reproduce. WanMil

Optimization for ExtTypeAttributes

Hi, I noticed that each ExtTypeAttributes instance allocates a DecimalFormat instance. This requires ~700 Bytes, but it seems that it is only used in rare cases. With the style that I am using for testing, I see > 200.000 instances of the ExtTypeAttributes class, so 140Mb are probably wasted. Attached small patch allocates the instance only when needed. Hi Steve, WanMil, I think the FakeIdGenerator should be changed. As Rogert Calvert pointed out, other tools like SRTM2OSM generate OSM data with IDs like "9223372036854775807" These ids may be treated as fake ids by the FakeIdGenerator.isFakeId() method which is too simple. removeShortArcs_v2.patch

Hi, this is the corrected version of the patch to use removeShortArcs only for roads. removeShortArcs_v2.patch <http://gis.19327.n5.nabble.com/file/n5743266/removeShortArcs_v2.patch> It makes processing a bit faster and reduces the size of those tiles that contain a lot of coastline ways (e.g. around norway). Minor improvement in splitter

I have noticed that Splitter places a single \n between the mapname and description in template.args, bur \r\n in most other places. In some Windows editors, this makes the layout inconsistent: > mapname: 60555001description: GB-Carlisle > input-file: 60555001.osm.pbf This doesn't matter, but it might be nice if (next time somebody is updating) they were made consistent, preferably with \r, so that they all appear on separate lines. Splitter Options for small files

Is there (or could there be) an option in Splitter such that if it finds an input file which will be 'split' into only one tile, it will just copy and rename it without further processing? This has arisen because in processing a group of tiles of varying size (some but not all of which need splitting), I have been getting artefacts (gaps between tiles).
