missing several streets in index

Hello, I am struggling with problem of missing several streets in the index. I use mkgmap r2661 with geofabrik extracted data for Slovakia. When I compile map of whole Slovakia with location-autofill=is_in,nearest I miss some streets when searching in my GPS device. I suspect it is somehow interconnected with geographical location. I for example miss streets Trenčianska, Turčianska and Oravská in Bratislava. They are very near of each other. I tried to compile map of extracted rectangle cca 1x1 km in tha area, and in that map they are in the index and are working properly. I still cannot find the cause of this problem. Any suggestions? Enhance PartFilter.java to return last parts of a value list

It might be useful to be able to get the last part of a value list but the current implementation of PartFilter does not allow this, i.e. you can get the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and so on but you can't get the last, the one before the last and so on. The change is trivial, in doFilter replace: if (temp.length >= partnumber) return temp[partnumber-1].trim(); with: if (temp.length >= Math.abs(partnumber) ) { if (partnumber > 0) { return temp[partnumber-1].trim(); } else { return temp[temp.length+partnumber].trim(); } } attached the new class which I compiled, plugged in r2661 and works as expected. This could be useful for example, emh..., when adding a rule like: highway=* { set street:name='${name|part: :-1}, ${name}'} street:name=* {set name='${street:name}'} so that the most meaningful part of a street name in some countries appears at the beginning of the name thus facilitating the address search ;) Let me know if you believe this is useful and if you prefer a patch. Basecamp, mkgmap and bicycle routing

Hi, I'm using Basecamp 4.2.2 with a routable gmapsupp.img generated by mkgmap r2659 and the default style. When calculating a route using the "bicycling" profile Basecamp is trying to route me through a highway which are explicitly marked with foot=no, sidewalk=no, bicycle=no, cycleway=no. When using the "walking" profile the highway is avoided. Does somebody know if this is due to: 1. mkgmap not generating the proper RouteParam attributes (unlikely?) 2. Basecamp not respecting bicycle restrictions in RouteParam I saw a lot of complaints about Basecamp in this list, so I'm suspecting it's due to reason 2 above, but it would be nice to get confirmation from somebody else who knows better. If Basecamp is not supposed to be broken, and somebody can help me investigating this, then I can generate and post a link to a small test map that reproduces this issue. Thanks a lot, Leonardo.

Use int_name only for index

Hi, is it possible to create index using different tags than in map? I would like to use map of Greece with original greek names, but want to create index with int_name tags, because I am unable to type greek letters into my gps device. Thank you Marek

Search addresses for latin countries (help on reg exp)

Folks, as you know – this comes up time to time – address search is unpractical in most Latin countries where the street/square name usually starts with the type (Via, Viale,Corso, Piazza etc [IT]; Avenida, Calle, Plaza etc [ES]; Avenue, Boulevard, Rue, Place etc [FR] etc.) followed by the full name of - usually - the person naming the street. Nevertheless the street names sometime appears abbreviated (V.le, Av.da, Bld. etc), sometime the Middle name is skipped, sometime the work “of” is used (Avenue de Bobigny, Corso del Popolo etc) So what is a simple Mozartstrasse in Austria would look like “Via Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart” in Italy or “Rue Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart” in France but possibly also “Av.da de Mozart” etc. Now, everyone knows the street/square by its last name and it would be much more practical to search by it: I’d like to have a style that just pick the last full word of the street/square name and put it as a suffix followed by a comma and the original name. This would really boost address search for Latin countries – so it might be a default style to add to IT, FR, ES, BR, MX… etc). Could you help me on making that regular expression for the style? “str1 str2… strN” -> “strN, str1 str2… strN” Thanks! Enrico

As of this page http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:boundary%3Dadministrative the administrative levels in Slovakia are: admin level 6: Borders of Bratislava and Košice admin level 8: district borders (because of this you see okres.... you see only district capital cities) admin level 9: town, village or autonomous town in Bratislava or Košice. So you should probably use something like that for Slovakia: mkgmap:country=SVK & mkgmap:city!=* & mkgmap:admin_level6=* { set mkgmap:city='${mkgmap:admin_level6}' } mkgmap:country=SVK & mkgmap:city!=* & mkgmap:admin_level9=* { set mkgmap:city='${mkgmap:admin_level9}' } mkgmap:country=SVK & mkgmap:city!=* & mkgmap:admin_level8=* { set mkgmap:city='${mkgmap:admin_level8}' } I tested it. It worked, but several streets are missing in the index. I have no idea why. In Czech Republic probably mkgmap:country=CZE & mkgmap:city!=* & mkgmap:admin_level8=* { set mkgmap:city='${mkgmap:admin_level8}' } mkgmap:country=CZE & mkgmap:city!=* & mkgmap:admin_level7=* { set mkgmap:city='${mkgmap:admin_level7}' } would be the best option.
