Etrex routing problem

Hello, I excuse in advance if this is not the good email for the question. Recently when I route on my Etrex Vista the map is displayed over on the purple line that shows the road to take. I am very sure that before the purple line was over. The problem is now routing is not utile anymore to me because I use my Etrex for walking. I cannot see the road to take on the map anymore. Is there something I can do with my GPS or mkgmap to get the road I have to follow on the top ? Thank you Maetma

NSIS Installer

Hi! I want to make an installer for the Mapsource version of a map covering Europe completely. The nsis option produces a *.nsi file. But when trying to build the installer NSIS produces an error: File: "63240417.img" Internal compiler error #12345: error mmapping file (2130809330, 2889216) is out of range. Note: you may have one or two (large) stale temporary file(s) left in your temporary directory (Generally this only happens on Windows 9x). Maybe this is because my map is larger than 2GB. BoundaryCoverageUtil

Hi, I have commited a new tool BoundaryCoverageUtil to the performance branch. Thanks to Gerd who ported it to the new boundary format. I have tested it with freshly compiled boundaries of africa and found some mysteries. http://files.mkgmap.org.uk/detail/60 contains a zip file with the coverage of africa with admin_level=2 (as GPX). If you look at the Canaries you see that the sea boundary is ok, but there is a hole along the coastline. I haven't started to track down the problem but maybe you have an idea, Gerd? It is possible that the boundary data is wrong, or the Preparer has a problem or that the coverage util fails. WanMil

Hi! I have a question which I hope is trivial but I couldn't find answer to: I use default rules to generate name index for my map: mkgmap:city!=* & mkgmap:admin_level8=* { set mkgmap:city='${mkgmap:admin_level8 }' } I want to use names from "short_name" tag instead of "name" tag assigned to boundary=administrative polygon. This tells Ivy that the jar might change despite the version number not changing, so always check the repository. This is usually used to express a dependency on the latest snapshot (e.g., nightly build) of a 3rd party project. This is not the case with osmpbf; its version number represents a fixed revision, so 'changing' should be false. -Richard Hansen

[Patch] Faster access on zip boundaries

Hi WanMil, attached is a small patch that tries first to locate the wanted *.bnd file directly. Only if that fails, the whole directory is searched sequentially. When you provide precompiled boundaries in the new format, please make sure that the zip doesn't contain a directory structure. [Patch] Improve Locator

Hi, attached patch for the performance branch improves the Locator. a) It uses a kd-tree to implement the findNextPoint() method. This may also be usable in other routines, did not look at this until now.
