Hi, When I am going south on Davis Dr and want to merge into US-64 West, the GPS and MapSource choose to turn left into Old Jenks Rd, right into N Salem St and then get the ramp to enter US 64W instead of the direct route from Davis Dr, turn right into the ramp. mkgmap crashes with --road-name-pois

Strange roundabout errors

Hi, I have been getting strange roundabout errors. I do not see anything wrong in the data. Today's run was with mkgmap r2001, because the locator branch merge in r2008 broke the address search on the Edge 705 when not using --index and MapSource. I have seen these with a newer mkgmap as well: 2011/08/18 11:15:12 WARNING (StyledConverter): 63240002.osm.pbf: Roundabout segment 125418517 direction looks wrong (see http://www.openstreetmap.org/?mlat=60.20986&mlon=25.07535&zoom=17) Last time I checked, all roundabout segments were counter-clockwise, which corresponds to drive-on-right. 2011/08/18 11:15:56 WARNING (RouteNode): 63240002.osm.pbf: Incoming roundabout flare road (Hietasaarenkuja, http://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/way/22821480) points in wrong direction? http://www.openstreetmap.org/?mlat=60.15502&mlon=24.92128&zoom=17 This is an outgoing flare road. Only the roundabout that is connected to the road has been tagged as junction=roundabout. (Sometimes I have seen flare roads or other non-roundabout roads incorrectly tagged as roundabouts.) No line drawing on specific polygons

Question: Is it possible to avoid the drawing of lines on a specific polygon? E.g.: I would like to suppress the drawing of footways on graveyards. problems with rendering of long riverbank (multipolygons)

Recently someone noticed flooding on the openmtbmap in Belgium south of Maastricht: http://forum.gps.nl/viewtopic.php?f=109&t=34597&p=277200#p277200 I have noticed related issues with floodings west of Maastricht on Lambertus' maps and on my own Openfietsmap parts of the same Albertcanal are "dry". Main cause seems a very long multipolygon relation of the Albertcanal: http://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/relation/1424029 On places where the tile borders are crossing this multipolygon mkgmap has problems with rendering (because the ends of the multipolgygon are way outside the tiles). Splitting up the multipolygon in smaller parts in osm seems not the way to solve these rendering problems because I think it's a bug in mkgmap that should be solved here instead of on osm. Any ideas?

Commit: r2023: Fix the order of the resolution arguments.

Version 2023 was commited by steve on 2011-09-05 22:29:45 +0100 (Mon, 05 Sep 2011) Fix the order of the resolution arguments. Instead of resolution 20-22 as intended you had to say: resolution 22-20 This fixes that problem. In addtion I swap the numbers they are the wrong way round so that styles that rely on the bug are not broken. Patch from Jul 21st (with the addition of the backward compatibility swapping).

Hi, Does mkgmap support all possible highway shields that Garmin supports? Is there any documentation on how to use them to achieve the US highway symbols and some of the state symbols as well? Thanks, Francisco

RGN pointers not used by mkjmap?

Hi I've noticed that all imgs created with mkgmap do not it appears to use offset RGN 0x55 with length at RGN 0x68. And yet,I have seen cases where this offset is not zero and seems to point to a block within RGN showing some elements with longitude and latitude delta. I might be wrong but does this imply that the purpose of this block is still not fully understood? Hi, I get an "error in style, stacksize 3" with following rules in lines-file : # dont works!! highway=* & (maxheight < 3.5) {add goods=no; add delivery=no} highway=* & (maxweight < 7.5) {add goods=no; add delivery=no} Do I have to write the numbers as '3.5' or 3,5 ? Greetings, Chris
