Turn restriction for highway=motorway[_link]

Hello, I have some trouble to make turn restrictions work properly. I think it is because mkgmap is failing to make them work if the highway types are "motorway" or "motorway_link". The roads are behaving a bit like "oneway=yes" in some directions. A very unpredictable thing. Is this a known behaviour? I am not jet 100% sure that the issue is really triggered by the "highway=motorway". But maybe someone before has already spend enough time to do all the trial-and-error testing for this...? Hello Daniela and Steve, The filename was finally not the problem. My problem was the order in which I wrote the arguments. As my data are increasing, the map I produce is splitted automatically in two tiles for the first time. I had to manage this change by rewriting all my scripts. Everything works if these three arguments are at the end of the file : mapname=12345678 description=blabla1 input-file=file1.osm mapname=23456789 description=blabla2 input-file=file2.osm ... Bad luck for me, I started all my files with these arguments. I did not read anything in the documentation about that. Best regards, David

Hello Daniela and Steve, When I say it occurs with version 1667 I forgot to tell that it worked fine for versions produced at the en of april (last time I generated my custom map). I made some tests as suggested by Dianela and the CR, LF, or CRLF don't change anything... While I was writing this message, I made more tests in background and finally "ding!" I discover the problem : Never put a minus sign in the name of the configuration file. Version 1667 works fine. I apologize for the time you waste with this false bug. Best regards, David

natural=sand / natural=beach / surface=sand

Proposal for adding natural=sand to the default mkgmap styles. The tag natural=sand is commonly used in the Netherlands for extensive areas of so called drift-sand (Dutch: zandverstuivingen, in osm on >300 ways/relations), which are unique in Europe. Can be rendered the same as natural=beach, which isn't rendered as well. Also surface=sand (used in polygons) can be considered to this group. Maybe the garmin type 0x53 (sand, tidal mud) is suited for this group, but I don't know how badly this will appear on Garmin/Mapsource (blue?). Since I'm using a TYP file it isn't my problem ;-)

Hello, With version 1667, I am not able to use my custom style file. If I launch the command java -enableassertions -Xmx1024M mkgmap.jar --style-file=./styles (or ./styles.zip) --list-style the result is the list of the styles contained in my ./styles directory or my archive styles.zip. if I define these options in a text file called with -c argument, it does not work despite dozens other options are well read (mapname, family...). I tested my custom style by replacing default style and rebuilding mkgmap to test the syntax and it works fine... I also tested --style-file and --style directly in command line and it works fine. The problem seems to occur when style-file and style options are used in a text file. The route option also does not work in a text file but --route works fine in command line. I also noted lots of "GRAVE" errors for RoadNetwork linked to zero length arc at level 17 (I thought routing worked only at the finest LOD of the map (24 in my case).
