Version 1634 was commited by steve on 2010-04-16 12:29:26 +0100 (Fri, 16 Apr 2010) Destinguish between exceptions that are likely to affect only a single map and those that are more likely to mean that the whole process has, or is likely to, fail. New Exception MapFailedException is used instead of ExitException for map specific errors. This will only make a difference when the --keep-going option is supplied. Now map specific errors will no longer abort the whole process when that option is supplied. The exception processing in Main needs some work which will need a separate patch.

The patch excludes the boundary relations from the multipolygon processing. This can be changed with the new option --process-boundary-relations. An additional spin-off is the improved performance and less warnings. - WanMil

yet another --add-pois-to-areas question

Hi! In the last days I learned really a lot about this feature and found many bugs in my style files but here I have completely no idea: http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=48.086103&lon=11.498978&zoom=18&layers=B0… I cannot figure out what prevents mkgmap from creating a POI for sport=swimming for this swimming bath. I would like to find it in the POI search. I have both building=* and public_building in my polygons and sport=swimming in the points. The other nearby swimming baths have either a already tagged POI for sport=swimming or are water_parks, so cannot be compared. Has perhaps somebody an idea what I could have made wrong in this case? Africa Extract from Geofabrik using --route

Can anyone find out why mkgmap is throwing this error since quite a few time when one tries to compile the Africa extract from Geofabrik? This happens using both default style, as my own style-file. I don't think it's related to --max-nodes=300000 as this is already quite low. typfile editor

Hi! Is there a typfile editor like the online one, with a graphical interface? The online editor is really good, but it has the restriction to not allow subtypes above 1f and I really would like to get rid of all baseballs that are now shown in my maps and they have 0x2c48. Dani

I used the following Command file on Windows XP: Srtm2Osm.exe -bounds1 -23.0 163.5 -19.5 168.5 -step 20 -cat 500 100 and obtained an marvelous .osm file for New Caledonia. (You have to download the Srtm2Osm tool first) I failed to assemble the topo .img and the regular OSM data .img in order to optionally display or not the topo data on the GPS nüvi device. question about styles and routing

Hello list, I'm trying to get better bicycle routing in my Garmin map; however, I don't know much about styles and the Garmin mapping, so I thought it might be wise to ask questions first (and shoot later): What I thought I'd do is make a sort of double routing for bicycles: when a road is on national biking paths (at least in the Netherlands, this means a tag "network=ncn") or regional bike paths (network=rcn), I might want an extra road with higher routing preference, only for bikes. This would mean a sort of double road; but I'm hoping it will only affect bicycle routing: highway=unclassified & network!=ncn & network!=rcn [0x06 road_class=1 road_speed=2 resolution 21] highway=unclassified [0x06 road_class=1 road_speed=2 resolution 21 continue] highway=unclassified & network=ncn {set access=no; set bicycle=yes } [0x06 road_class=3 road_speed=1 resolution 18 continue] highway=unclassified & network=rcn {set access=no; set bicycle=yes } [0x06 road_class=2 road_speed=1 resolution 19] (This should probably be done for other types of highway as well, but I did not think the chances of a bike path going through a highway=primary too high ;) Also, in the same way, get different bicycle paths: highway=cycleway & network=ncn {add access = no; add bicycle = yes; add foot = yes} [0x16 road_class=3 road_speed=1 resolution 18] highway=cycleway & network=rcn {add access = no; add bicycle = yes; add foot = yes} [0x16 road_class=2 road_speed=1 resolution 19] highway=cycleway {add access = no; add bicycle = yes; add foot = yes} [0x16 road_class=2 road_speed=1 resolution 23] Would this, theoretically, work?
