Building a map of Europe I get the following message: Overflow of the NET1. The tile must be split so that there are fewer road in it Would it be possible to include tile name in the message? Carlos

Hello Daniela, You should be able to do it with the online TYP editor (if you mean http://ati.land.cz/) Doing this with an hex editor is not so trivial, because you will have to add some bytes and then you will have to update new data offsets. If you look at the online editor perl script (which is very good), you will see that is not so easy. Another solution is to try makeTyp. It makes only NT1 TYP and is able to deal with pictures instead of XPM patterns. David

Mapsource problems with moved folders, etc (regedit)

Hi! The first times I dealed with Openstreetmap maps and mapsource I got often the error that mapsource told me it had problems and needed to be reinstalled. That was due to the fact that I had deleted some folders so mapsource could not find them anymore. ;-) I had to use regedit to delete the items in the registry and everything was fine again. My question is, is there already a web page that explains this procedure? I mean, for me it is OK, I know now what to do, but should we explain it to others that perhaps are not familiar to regedit? Hello, You can change the style for each type in a map. You have to define it in TYP file. But it does not mean that the device will be able to display it. On my Etrex, it works only for non vector text (if you force a vector text to lower case, you might see a default symbol instead of letters). You can also define the text's color for day and night mode. David

Switch off labels/show at a high resolution?

Hi! Here are many shops mapped as areas. http://www.deltadelta.de/nmz/sc_labels.png Now they show up at low resolutions and in a huge font size.Can I make them show up at a later resolution? TIA, Dani

Find category

Hi! When I select in my Garmin device: Find -> Shopping -> (Menu) Select Category, I get a list of categories. At the end of the list I have currently 9 times "other". But each "other" category summarizes just one sort of shops (modulo tagging errors). Is there a possibility to change the "other" into something more meaningful? TIA, Dani

Lower case letters

Hi! Although the manual says "Note that this doesn't work on many (most?) Garmin devices.", I tried this option. The funny thing is that most labels work, except the street names. http://www.deltadelta.de/nmz/lower_upper.png Dani P.S: Can I somehow adjust the font sizes?

How to change a style file

Hi! Yesterday I went to a "Stammtisch", a point where some friends meet each month. The bar where we meet is tagged as a pub. That seems to be correct, I asked the owner. You can eat there mexican food and drink cocktails. When I was near the location I asked my garmin with my brandnew map to find nearby POIs with food and drink. Our location was not among them. So what have I made wrong? Without changing something it gets the "beer mug" icon from Garmin and it is a bar/nightclub. I think I have to tweak my points file a little bit, but how? Or better: Which POI should I give to a pub that it can be found in food and drink? Dani
