Background rectangle ignores bounds

Just noticed that the background rectangle (type 0x4b) generated in MapperBasedMapDataSource.addBackground() is defined by the extent of the map features and is not clipped when bounds are specified - should it be?

Before, if the OSM file contained multiple bounds elements, the mapper was told about each one and so the resulting map background rectangle contained all of the areas. This meant that although the map features were clipped to be within the area defined by the last bounds element, the background rectangle was larger. Now, when the OSM file contains multiple bounds elements, the background rectangle will match the clipped features. Obviously, this doesn't solve the general problem of coping with multiple bounds elements.

Hi, Just tried to compile a non routable map with mkgmap-r865 for a mp file (around 135MB). The command line I used as below: java -jar -Xmx1000M -enableassertions mkgmap.jar 123123.mp The result img map show many lines(roads) with error. Refer to error1.jpg and error2.jpg. Before compiling the mp file looks like "before.jpg". Not sure if there are anything wrong with the command I used or related to the map it-self... Thanks Allan

getting the boundingbox of an img

Hi, I have a series of contour elevation files in OSM format (sample filename is: Lat10Lon123Lat11Lon124.osm). I then converted them to img using mkgmap --transparent option. The map looks good when combined with the OSM data. Converting them to img produces a filename like: 50000001.img, which loses the reference to the boundingbox tile. [PATCH] swap pow for sqrt to save time

Hi, I was looking at hprof output for mkgmap after having processed quite a large map and about 40% of the time was being spent in Math.pow() - the attached patch swaps out the pow(x, 0.5) for sqrt(x) and the run time drops from 130 seconds to around 83! Is there any reason not to go for the sqrt version? If not, it's well worth making the change. Cheers, Mark
