Bug in mkgmap splitter Way/ Relation ** in too many areas - mkgmap filesplitter

start /low /b /wait java -Xmx1200m -jar splitter.jar --max-nodes=1400000 --mapid=63700000 germany.osm on Germay.osm from Geofabrik. I get the following commandline output errors: "Relation 62781 in too many areas" (this comes up many many times in a row) "Relation 62549... The same goes for ways. The smaller I make the tiles the longer this list of errors gets. I think this hasn't been reported yet, has it?

This happens when a relation covers more than 4 tiles. The smaller a tile is the more it is likely to happen. It is a limitation of the current version of the spliter that no element can be in more than 4 tiles. ..Steve

O.k. - Would be very great if that could be increased to 5. I think with 5 nearly all relations in Germany should be covered (I need 23 tiles for Germany, otherwise I get errors). What about ways? Are they dropped too? Or as a dirty fix, simply writing those relations in two or more parts instead with different IDs? Steve Ratcliffe wrote:
