Hi, If anyone cares to test the installer for the demo Baltic map, I have uploaded it to a temporary location: http://www.smartavionics.com/download/OSM-Baltic.exe It's not huge, about 30MB. The family ID is 909. I haven't made any attempt to distinguish the country names in the map so as it includes regions from various countries, the regions/countries for cities will be odd. Any feedback is welcome. Mark

Dear Mark, the installer works fine for me (Mapsource running on Windows XP Tablet Edition). Just one remark: The map shows as "OSM Map" - it would be easier to find it if it would set a less generic name. Best wishes Christian

It installed all right on a Vista laptop. Looks great, took me a long time to find any marine features though... The global index crashes on most searches I try to do. ..Steve

Hi Steve, Thanks for the report.

Good.

Yeah, the marine mappers (Open Sea Dogs?) have quite a lot of work to do. Still, now they know that they can actually make usable maps it should spur them on

I haven't played with that much apart from locating the odd city and looking for marine objects. Cheers, Mark

It reminds me of the old days, searching for a city beginning 'gr' gives me a bunch of things some beginning 'gr' and some not. Of those that do not begin 'gr' many of them aren't even cities. I guess that the index is not produced from the same .img files as are contained in the installer. Anyway if I regenerate the index files then it starts working again. ..Steve

Err, yeah, I managed to ommit the --index option for some of the map builds and it was using out of date index files. You probably got those. I have now updated OSM-Baltic.exe. Cheers, Mark
