Hi, the default style points file contains barrier=gate { addaccess no; set mkgmap:road-speed=1; } I think this should be changed to allow pedestrians and bicycles, else this would be treated like a closed door when --link-pois-to-ways is used. Gerd

Hi Gerd, I think that's a typcial OSM problem. It is not clearly defined who can pass a barrier=gate by default. I have implemented it with 'nobody' as long as there are no specific access tags like foot=yes or bicycle=yes which redefines the nobody. Anyhow feel free to change that. WanMil

Hi WanMil, I find quite a lot of these barrier=gate points without any additional tag, and the wiki shows a picture which allows access even for car, but probably only for drivers that have a key to open the big door. I travelled part of the north sea cycle route and passed many of them, their purpose is to prevent cattle from running away. Bikers and pedestrian find a small door next to the big one. For the bike driver, this means stop to zero, find out how the gate can be opened, and push through, so the time punishment is bigger than that for a barrier=cycle_barrier as shown here:http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/File:Unknown_barrier.jpg Gerd

Hi WanMil, need your help: The default style uses e.g. set mkgmap:road-speed=0 My understanding of set mkgmap:road-speed is that it should be either +x or -x. Gerd, Is it correct that barrier=gate is not even rendered in the default point style? points file mkgmap-r2908 shows only these barriers: barrier=bollard | barrier=bus_trap [0x660f resolution 24] barrier=block | barrier=cycle_barrier | barrier=stile | barrier=kissing_gate [0x660f resolution 24]

Hi Minko, I think that was no intended. It is changed in r2910. Gerd
