This has not been handled by any filter before and is now realized by the new PolygonSubdivSizeSplitterFilter.
Hi, I have committed the slightly modified quite old patch (http://www.mkgmap.org.uk/pipermail/mkgmap-dev/2011q2/011818.html). There is some more potential to improve the subdivision creation but I think this is a real improvement and it's ok to do the other improvements step by step. WanMil
