type=through_route relations

Hi all, I've noticed that the changes in r3649 http://www.mkgmap.org.uk/websvn/listing.php?repname=mkgmap&rev=3649 effectively removed the support for type=through_route relations, which was not intended. I wonder if I should simply remove the rest of the code or if I should try to make it work again. There are only 116 relations : https://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/relations/through_route so I'd prefer to remove the code. My understanding is that the code was used as a work around for some wrong code that calculated the initial heading value. Gerd

Hi It looks like this proposed feature was rejected by the OSM community: https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Proposed_features/through_route and, as there are few examples of its use, I suggest disabling or removing the code. I couldn't see from this web page if there was a recommended way of indicating, via an OSM relation, to the map conversion software (eg mkgmap) and then to the device itself, that an apparently straight through traversal of a junction (ie same road name or whatever) requires a give-way or a turn. It is easy to take the wrong route if the device doesn't alert the junction. Ticker On Wed, 2019-10-23 at 18:17 +0000, Gerd Petermann wrote:
