Commit: r1158: Better highway=primary type

Version 1158 was commited by elrond on 2009-08-30 01:10:39 +0100 (Sun, 30 Aug 2009) Better highway=primary type A one-character diff to allow highway=primary to assume by default a different (and more appropriate) Garmin style to highway=trunk. by Dermot McNally Thanks! I can't see a difference in mapsource, so 0x02 and 0x03 seem to be quite close. We now have 0x01 motorway 0x02 trunk 0x03 primary 0x04 secondary 0x05 tertiary

Ah, but you can see the difference with a suitable .typ file :) Thanks for the commit, Dermot -- -------------------------------------- Iren sind menschlich

As much as I hate checking in binary files, I wonder if it would be useful for there to be a standard/default .typ file that makes osm maps a bit more useful, perhaps just showing the different road types differently (esp track vs service vs trail and maybe even unpaved, plus cycleway), and perhaps has a few more POI icons, and for this to be in the sources along with a description of what it is. When there's adequate free software for .typ files in the glorious future, this could be swapped out for the source description. I have been avoiding .typ files due to the non-free tools issue, but am wondering if that's rational.

Awesome - thanks for pointing out. I had the impression all typ software was closed-source.
