cgpsmapper open version: initial source released

http://sourceforge.net/projects/cgpsmapper/ Rapidly browsing the sourceforge site, I didn't see any reference to the license. In any case, I hope mkgmap devs can learn a few things or two in the open version of cgpsmapper. -- cheers, maning ------------------------------------------------------ "Freedom is still the most radical idea of all" -N.Branden wiki: http://esambale.wikispaces.com/ blog: http://epsg4253.wordpress.com/ ------------------------------------------------------

It looks like the author has only published two parts of cgpsmapper so far: cpreview - tool for index generation and preview files generation mapRead - sub part of cpreview - allowing fast access to IMG file That's interesting enough in itself though. The author indicates that the rest of cgpsmapper will follow at some point. Cheers. On Dec 11, 2010, at 14:47, maning sambale wrote:

Cheers. Well I hope at that point we will get the address search right, plus the intertile routing (the two largest mysteries).....

During the last days quite a lot of additions have been done to the code. Could their be already the solution regarding the broken address search (which is handled by cpreview)? http://cgpsmapper.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/cgpsmapper/

To my knowledge the address search has worked already in the older versions of cpreview. So with a look at the source code it should be possible to find out, what cpreview does other then mkgamp. But at the moment I'm busy with other projects. Would it in the meantime be a thinkable way to generate the maps with mkgmap and create the mdr index with cpreview?

Hi

We need to get the sorting correct and that may be all that is needed. The cpreview program implements some sections in the index that we do not have and they may be needed, but there are indexes out there that only contain the sections that we have so I am hopeful that adding the SRT file and sorting the labels according to it will at least help. I'm going to work on this over the holidays. ..Steve
