BTW: Java 1.7 isn't yet available as installable package on all platforms.
Linux: openjdk 7, AFAIK there are no problems. Sometimes Orcale Java is necessary. For debian based Linux you can use a shell script to install it. Look here: http://www.duinsoft.nl/packages.php Regards Josef
