tdb DetailMapBlock.java query

@ Steve In this block certain bytes are always set to 01 c3 00 ff 00 00 00. Interestingly, a) I 've never encountered 01 c3 , always 01 01 b) It looks like the FF is part of a 4 byte number, indicating some total; could be nodes of some kind. In part of London (TOPO GB2) I have 81 0E 07 00 Any thoughts about this part of the 4C block always being set? I 'm sure it won't fundamentally make a difference to the way Mapsource functions. -- View this message in context: http://gis.19327.n5.nabble.com/tdb-DetailMapBlock-java-query-tp5754083.html Sent from the Mkgmap Development mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

Hi
In this block certain bytes are always set to 01 c3 00 ff 00 00 00. Interestingly,
I took a look and I think it should be read as: 01 c3 00 ff 00 00 00 The first is always(?) 01 The second is an identifier of one of the sections in a 0x53 block (which we don't include in the TDB). The third does appear to a number that roughly varies with the size of the tile, but I've no idea what it actually is. ..Steve

Hi Steve I agree the last 4 bytes seem to refer to some form of 'density' with islands and often 'coast line' tiles showing a lower number, at least in GB and Holland. regarding &53 , I've never seen this additional copyright block being referred to in Mapsource itself. Thanks again Nick -- View this message in context: http://gis.19327.n5.nabble.com/tdb-DetailMapBlock-java-query-tp5754083p57541... Sent from the Mkgmap Development mailing list archive at Nabble.com.
