known issues with Garmin Montana?

Hi, are there known issues with mkgmap-generated maps and Garmin Montana? One of my mapusers has the following problem. My map of Germany is on SD-card. He can activate the map, but mapscreen stays blank (only gpx etc. is shown). But if the Montana is connected to the pc, the map will be shown correctly in BaseCamp. I have no problems using my maps with my Oregon, also no other user report a problem with other devices. Someone any guesses? Maps are found here: http://www.aighes.de/OSM/index.php Henning

I have had a few reports of more or less the same issue with very big mapsets (Germany & Benelux 2 Gb). One on an Oregon and one on a GPSmap 62st. In the case of the Oregon user the issue was solved by removing other maps on his SD card. Does this has to do with the internal memory of the GPS device?

I don't have any problems with my 62s and didn't manage to fill up the internal memory. But I know from the Oregon that you get there a clear error message if you have too much data for the internal memory. It was an very easy problem: He had to much Tiles on his Garmin. After removing some maps erverything was fine. Henning
