Hello, In the latest mkgmap versions I have several tiles flooded. This seems to be caused by small inland coastlines. I have this kind of message in the output: 2010/10/02 08:29:54 WARNING (SeaGenerator): 12000002.osm.gz: Converting anti-island starting at http://www.openstreetmap.org/?mlat=43.99125&mlon=-89.83336&zoom=17 into an island as it is surrounded by water IIRC it was not like that about 6 weeks go. Thanks, N.

The lake you have shown has natural=coastline. That needs to be changed to natural=water Regards, Markus_g -----Original Message----- From: mkgmap-dev-bounces@lists.mkgmap.org.uk [mailto:mkgmap-dev-bounces@lists.mkgmap.org.uk] On Behalf Of Nakor Sent: Sunday, 3 October 2010 10:32 AM To: Development list for mkgmap Subject: [mkgmap-dev] Flooded tiles Hello, In the latest mkgmap versions I have several tiles flooded. For what it is worth, I converted all natural=coastline to natural=water inside the Finnish shore line (except for one huge lake, Päijänne). I developed the JOSM Wayselector plugin for that purpose. With Osmosis, I extracted natural=coastline ways from the Geofabrik map extract, loaded that to JOSM, and with Wayselector selected the coastline. Then I visually inspected the polygons near the highlighted coastline, and retagged everything on the mainland side of the coast. Best regards, Marko

I have also a problem with coastline. I use --generate-sea=extend-sea-sectors. Til now, everything was fine (last rendering 2 weeks ago). Today th hole coastline was flooded. I used mkgmap version 1708 and Geofabrik-Extract of friday. Any guesses where I should search for the mistake? Which area? In germany there was a broken coastline near Emden, see <http://forum.openstreetmap.org/viewtopic.php?id=9478> . Chris

Every tile, which contains a coastline is flooded. Not sure if it would help but I also include completeWays=yes and completeRelations=yes on each bounding box when using osmosis .36 haven't yet used .37 Markus_g -----Original Message----- From: mkgmap-dev-bounces@lists.mkgmap.org.uk [mailto:mkgmap-dev-bounces@lists.mkgmap.org.uk] On Behalf Of aighes Sent: Monday, 4 October 2010 4:44 AM To: mkgmap-dev@lists.mkgmap.org.uk Subject: Re: [mkgmap-dev] Flooded tiles Every tile, which contains a coastline is flooded. this can't be the reason for my problem. The parameters would only influence the tiles at the border of the map. Are there other guesses? aighes -- View this message in context: http://gis.638310.n2.nabble.com/Flooded-tiles-tp5595231p5606093.html Sent from the Mkgmap Development mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

Are you able to give the location of at least one on the flooded tiles. What happens when you use the same data but with mkgmap r1703? ..Steve

is there a place, where I can download r1703? Also I checked the coastlines of the extract, I split with osmosis. They seems to be ok. aighes -- View this message in context: http://gis.638310.n2.nabble.com/Flooded-tiles-tp5595231p5606878.html Sent from the Mkgmap Development mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

Its now on the download page, and at http://files.mkgmap.org.uk/download/5/mkgmap-r1703.jar Thanks ..Steve

thanks a lot for the old version. r1703 works fine. Everything is correct. aighes -- View this message in context: http://gis.638310.n2.nabble.com/Flooded-tiles-tp5595231p5607477.html Sent from the Mkgmap Development mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

Hello aighes
thanks a lot for the old version. r1703 works fine. Everything is correct.
Well that is good as it shows where the problem is, but I need to track down what the difference is. Could you upload a tile that doesn't work (the .osm file not the .img). You can use files.mkgmap.org.uk. Many thanks, ..Steve

Hi Steve, I've choosen an Tile from belgian coast. You can download it from http://www.aighes.de/OSM/14000015.osm.gz . In mkgmap I use the following parameters: %java% -jar bin\mkgmap.jar --style-file=mapstyle --country-abbr=%abbr% --country-name=%name% --tdbfile --preserve-element-order --route --remove-short-arcs --ignore-maxspeeds --add-pois-to-areas --location-autofill=2 --index --mapname=%id%000000 --overview-mapname=%id%000000 --family-name=%name% --series-name=%name% --description=ReiseRadKarte --family-id=%id% --product-id=1 --levels=0:24,1:22,2:21,3:20,4:19,5:17 --generate-sea=extend-sea-sectors --output-dir=%name% --gmapsupp %id%000000.TYP -c template.args Much luck by finding the error. If you need additional things, let me know. aighes -- View this message in context: http://gis.638310.n2.nabble.com/Flooded-tiles-tp5595231p5608319.html Sent from the Mkgmap Development mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

Thanks very much. It didn't happen if you gave --generate-sea=multipolygon so I didn't see it earlier. Should now be fixed with the next commit. ..Steve

I (and many others) have to thank you for fixing the problem. Works fine now with r1712. aighes -- View this message in context: http://gis.638310.n2.nabble.com/Flooded-tiles-tp5595231p5618569.html Sent from the Mkgmap Development mailing list archive at Nabble.com.
