Hi Steph, not sure what to do here. Whenever I have such a problem I use regedit to clean the entries about installed maps. Gerd Stéphane MARTIN wrote

Hi, Tested with a clean Windows. No maps, no Garmin product installed before my test. I tried to write the .nsi with UTF-8, ISO-8859-15 ; LF, CRLF. The same… Tested with makensis -VERSION v31-Dec-2016.cvs too. idem The error messages from BaseCamp, Mapsource, MapConverter are not very useful ! Hi, Idem with "java -Dfile.encoding=UTF-8" or "-Dfile.encoding=UTF8" option for mkgmap. My 20000000.nsi is UTF-8 after running mkgmap. Hi Steph, please forget that idea with -Dfile.encoding=UTF-8. I thought you may use it and I wanted to say that you should NOT do that. I've probably missunderstood the problem. You say that you can install the map but Basecamp doesn't like it, so I think you probably have an invalid map. You may post a link with the files generated by mkgmap for verification. Hi, I think the problem is that mkgmap doesn't work properly when started in an environment with something like -Dfile.encoding=UTF-8. The --nsis option will probably produce a scrambled file in that situation. I guess we can change this in the same way as with the last patch from Mike Baggaley, but I have no idea if that would cause new trouble for others. So, as a work around, I suggest to run mkgmap with something like -Dfile.encoding=ISO8859_15 . This should produce a *.nsi file which is not utf-8. If makensis with /INPUTCHARSET OEM or whatever it accepts. No change. Steph Le 02/01/2017 à 06:53, Gerd Petermann a écrit : Hi, I think the problem is that mkgmap doesn't work properly when started in an environment with something like -Dfile.encoding=UTF-8. Hi, I did some tests starting with a minimalist script (mkgmap options) and it is possible that I found the source of my problem ... When I add "--overview-mapnumber=15000001" to mkgmap options, then I obtain the error (all works fine until I try to open BaseCamp, or MapSource which refuse to run because of this new map). Is it a mistake from my own ? Need information or file ? Steph Le 02/01/2017 à 06:53, Gerd Petermann a écrit :
Hi Steph,
not sure what to do here. Whenever I have such a problem I use regedit to clean the entries about installed maps.

Hi,
I am unable to obtain a proper installer for Windows.
All the processes work fine until I open BaseCamp (v. 4.6.2) An error occur: "Problem with installation of Mayotte-OSM-default. Reinstall Mayotte-OSM-default and re-run BaseCamp."
MapConverter does not want to run.
Maps are made with a Linux station.

Hi Steph, typically the overview map has the number xxxx0000 and the other *.img files xxxx0001,xxxx0002,... I think mkgmap doesn't verify that you don't have an *.img with the number 15000001. I can imagine this could cause such an error.
