Hi all, the attached patch adds a hint that holes in *.poly files are ignored. It also adds the --polygon-desc-file option in splitter.txt. Unfortunately I don't know how to test the formatting in the various formats, esp. the man page. Would be nice if someone on a linux system could test this. Gerd

Oops, forgot to attach the patch. Here it is. Gerd ________________________________________ Von: Gerd Petermann <gpetermann_muenchen@hotmail.com> Gesendet: Freitag, 5. Hi Gerd The unix man entry looks fine $ man -l ${splitterSvn}/trunk/doc/splitter.1 but I don't know how anyone would be expected to find and use it unless it gets installed with the other man pages dist/doc/splitter.txt and .html generated with mwconf from doc/splitter.txt are attached; I don't know if you need either or both before committing the change, but I doubt if you need the .html version - www.mkgmap.org.uk should re-generate it in the correct context. I have no idea how splitter.1.xml is used Ticker On Fri, 2024-04-05 at 07:37 +0000, Gerd Petermann wrote:

Hi Ticker, thanks for checking. I also don't know where those doc files are used or how a man file should be installed. I'd be happy to drop any doc which is of no use. I've committed r654 for now. Not sure what to do with your version of splitter.txt. Hi Gerd Looking at the svn log it seems that the man page splitter.1 which is in groff format can be generated from splitter.1.xml which is in DocBook XML format. I can't be bothered to install and try this so I think just keep all files as you have. The version of splitter.txt I attached can go in dist/doc where it will be copied into a local system you make with ant - check what you have there to see of this makes sense. If splitter.html is there replace that as well. I presume Steve's automatic building process does this; I'll have a look next week to see if splitter-r654 has been created and the contents of its doc. It seems that splitter build/release process for www.mkgmap.org.uk doesn't regenerate the online documentation or produce the formatted text version of doc/splitter.txt from the raw wiki format splitter.txt. Looking back to an older downloaded version from Dec-2018 it didn't do it then either. Ticker On Fri, 2024-04-05 at 16:08 +0100, Ticker Berkin wrote:

Hi Ticker, Yes, yesterday I asked Steve to check if this is meant to be done manually. No response yet. The html is indeed outdated, it differs in many points. I'll do the changes manually on Tuesday if Steve doesn't respond before.
