Hello list, After a long search, here's the (lacking of) results. Eventually, I found a single node on the map that would stop the map from blanking. However, when I made the map just be a tiny bit larger, it would vanish again - with or without the node. So the blanking is probably the result of a subtle interaction between (sub)map element count and tile position. Or something like it. Or something completely different. Best regards, Valentijn

I still think the solution is to make the overview map bigger and place cities or similar with name "mkgmap" in 2 opposite corners around 500m larger than the actual map. At least this works if I compile the overview map with maptk. On 27/07/2009, Valentijn Sessink <valentyn@blub.net> wrote:

Hi Could everyone who is interested in this please try the attached patch. It seems to work on the example I was looking at, but of course problems may just have moved elsewhere so please check thing are OK more widely. It would be good to know if it makes a difference to inter tile routing as well. ..Steve

I tried the patch on Valentijn's example, and it solved the problem. I will now try it on a larger area and report the results. Thanks!

Hey you incredible wizzard :) Seems you fixed it :) I cannot find any places where things go wrong now. Found a routing problem while looking though, but that was not induced by your patch (I reversed your patch it and it's still there). I'll send a report shortly. (Have your netherlands.osm ready for some splitting ;) So the patch works! Wonderful! V. Steve Ratcliffe schreef:

I tried this patch on a tiled map of Germany. The inter-tile routing did appear to improve. For the first time, I was able to calculate a reasonable route from Karlsruhe to Hamburg. Thanks!
