new tile splitter released: r263

Hi all, I decided to merge the problem-list branch back to trunk, so r263 is now a release version. @Steve: Attached is an updated file to replace http://www.mkgmap.org.uk/page/tile-splitter Please check, I am a beginner with html and my editor complains about line 351, whereas html tidy complais about other lines as well. tile-splitter.htm <http://gis.19327.n5.nabble.com/file/n5740649/tile-splitter.htm> I found no page on http://www.mkgmap.org.uk/ that links to http://www.mkgmap.org.uk/page/tile-splitter If that is intended, please let me know where I should place the updated docu. I would place it also to wiki mkgmap/help/splitter, if it's ok. Because osm-wiki also contains the documentation of mkgmap and mkgmap.org.uk links to osm-wiki for documentation. But I would wait, till branch is merged back to trunk. Henning Am 17.12.2012 08:17, schrieb GerdP:

Hi Gerd, I found one spelling mistake in the part of --polygon-file. incresed must be changed to increased. Many Thanks for the great documentation. I added it to osm-wiki and linked it. Henning

Hello Henning, thanks a lot. I just found that I missed to update some of the performance values, esp. those in "First" chapter. Splitter is no longer slower than mkgmap... I'll try to collect some numbers for r263 now. Ciao, Gerd

Hi Gerd

Thanks Gerd, the web site is written mostly in mediawiki format, so I have converted it and it is now on the website. The static content on the website can now be seen at http://svn.mkgmap.org.uk/web. ..Steve

OK. I found so many wrong and out-aged help files for splitter, let's see how long this one will be usable ;-) Gerd -- View this message in context: http://gis.19327.n5.nabble.com/new-tile-splitter-released-r263-tp5740649p574... Sent from the Mkgmap Development mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

Hi Gerd,

Yes documentation is something that I also want to improve and I have some ideas, but will finish the other things I've started first. If there is anything on mkgmap.org.uk that is wrong let me know and I will get rid of it or fix it. ..Steve

Hi Steve, I found many descriptions written by other people, many of them still talking about the cache parameter. If I find something else on mkgmap.org.uk I'll let you know. Gerd

Hello everyone, i have a "little" problem using latest mkgmap r2412 with splitter r263 and --output=o5m. Please see full description here: http://gis.19327.n5.nabble.com/Commit-r2412-merge-the-o5m-support-branch-td5... I have build a lot of maps with the combination "mkgmap 2412 / splitter 263" ... looks very good for me. @Gerd: Thanks for the "hard" work. Regards Klaus PS: There was one exception - Norway wasn't buildable with the "no-trim" option. I will open a separate thread for this problem. -- View this message in context: http://gis.19327.n5.nabble.com/new-tile-splitter-released-r263-tp5740649p574...
