Hi Enrico, there is no code in mkgmap or splitter to support this special kind of relation, so I think the answer is no. It is also not widely used, so I see no need to implement this. Hi Enrico, Yes, it is a pity, but I think this is not only a problem in mkgmap, it is a general problem in OSM, therefore I think you should discuss this first in the OSM forums / lists. The proposal doesn't say that the members of a relation have to build closed rings, I think it is quite different to mp. If you change the type to multipolygon you have to hope that mkgmap connects the ways. No idea if that works.
