Commit: r1330: Reduce volume of warnings when turn restriction uses a 'via' way.

Version 1330 was commited by markb on 2009-10-28 19:09:18 +0000 (Wed, 28 Oct 2009) Reduce volume of warnings when turn restriction uses a 'via' way. We don't yet (if ever) support via ways but when they occur in the map data they cause inappropriate warning messages to be output. So even if we can't actually generate a turn restriction with a via way, we can at least cut down on the noise when they occur. Patch from Marko M?\195?\164kel?\195?\164.

Thanks for committing this, Mark! I think that I have fixed all turn restriction errors in finland.osm now, which means that I should not be bugging you about these error messages any more. :-) Next up are the 69 non-oneway roundabout flare roads. Marko

Hi Marko,
Thanks for committing this, Mark!
No problem, it looked like good stuff.
I think that I have fixed all turn restriction errors in finland.osm now, which means that I should not be bugging you about these error messages any more. :-)
Next up are the 69 non-oneway roundabout flare roads.
Ha! 69, that's nothing, I'm currently working my way through the 2000+ flare road errors in the UK! When I have done those, I have 500+ roundabouts that fork or have overlapping segments. Why am I doing this? Cheers, Mark

Finland might have fewer but more careful mappers. Or we have simpler roads (fewer turn restrictions and roundabouts). I think that they started building roundabouts in cities some 10 to 20 years ago. Before that, there were few but very large roundabouts (driveable at 60+ km/h). There were only a few dozen problematic roundabouts (wrong direction, forking). The turn restriction relation errors (again a few dozen) were obvious, except for one, which consisted of seven 'to' ways (the same way split to seven segments) and no other roles. I wrote to the culprit, and he fixed it. (Potlatch and the rarity of turn restrictions in that area were to blame.) How was the saying, "the more, the merrier"? Or was it "more cooks make a worse soup"? :-) Marko

Dunno why you're doing it but when you find out let me know as I'm ploughing my way through them as well whenever time allows!! Cheers Paul
