Hi, when I compile small local test files (from overpass api) I get following java error: java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException: Index: 0, Size: 0 at java.util.ArrayList.RangeCheck(ArrayList.java:547) at java.util.ArrayList.get(ArrayList.java:322) at uk.me.parabola.mkgmap.reader.osm.UnusedElementsRemoverHook.end(UnusedElementsRemoverHook.java:140) at uk.me.parabola.mkgmap.reader.osm.OsmReadingHooksChain.end(OsmReadingHooksChain.java:79) at uk.me.parabola.mkgmap.reader.osm.xml.Osm5MapDataSource.load(Osm5MapDataSource.java:73) at uk.me.parabola.mkgmap.main.MapMaker.loadFromFile(MapMaker.java:144) at uk.me.parabola.mkgmap.main.MapMaker.makeMap(MapMaker.java:56) at uk.me.parabola.mkgmap.main.Main$1.call(Main.java:206) at uk.me.parabola.mkgmap.main.Main$1.call(Main.java:203) at java.util.concurrent.FutureTask$Sync.innerRun(FutureTask.java:303) at java.util.concurrent.FutureTask.run(FutureTask.java:138) at java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor$Worker.runTask(ThreadPoolExecutor.java:886) at java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor$Worker.run(ThreadPoolExecutor.java:908) at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:662) Exiting - if you want to carry on regardless, use the --keep-going option versions: mkgmap 2263 java version "1.6.0_31" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_31-b05) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.6-b01, mixed mode) OS=win7 Any hints what could cause this error ? Chris

Did you try to open the osm-file with a texteditor and took a look at it. Are there bounds inside? If so, you could try --ignore-osm-bounds. Henning

I noticed that data from overpass doesn't contains a bounds line so I added one by hand. Anyway, --ignore-osm-bounds does not help on my error. Also using the default style does not help. Maybe my java is defective, I have this error since a java update. On the other side, I still can compile osm.pbf files generated by splitter. Chris

Hi, the error was caused by an empty way. I wasn't aware that this is possible. This case is now handled in the UnusedElementsRemoverHook. Thanks for the report! WanMil
