overview-branch: missing tiles in mapsource

Hi, I found a problem with the overview2 branch from last week. I haven't tested it yet with the current version. Sometimes single tiles are missing in Mapsource. They are available and working in the gmapsupp.img generated by mkgmap, and the tiles are available in the install directory of MapSource. But MapSource does not display it, only the overview-map. It does work if I remove all ovm_* files before running mkgmap with --tdbfile. So something like: mkgmap --gmapsupp ... mkgmap --tdbfile 7*.img => single tiles are missing rm ovm_*.img mkgmap --tdbfile 7*.img => works, but of course no overview map available. What would you else need? Hi Thorsten, does that mean that the overview map is ok but the gmapsupp is not? Or is the generated *.nsi incomplete? Gerd Thorsten Kukuk wrote

The overview map is Ok, the gmapsupp.img generated by mkgmap is Ok, too, at least if you copy it directly to the GPS and don't install it with mapsource. The tiles are all there in the mapsource directory. If I look with an hex editor in the *.tdb file, the tiles are listed there, too. Qlandkartegt has no problems to display all tiles, too. So for whatever reason, MapSource ignores some tiles and does not show them. Thorsten

Hi Thorsten, maybe an empty level. I think the normal img files should be identical to those created with the trunk version. Are the maps available on http://osm.thkukuk.de/ ? Gerd Thorsten Kukuk wrote

Hi Thorsten, Maybe you should not use resolution 10. As mkgmap adds an empty level with res 9, this might simply be unknwon to MapSource. GPSMapEdit shows "GPS zoom" unknown for resolution 9: besides that I did not find any clear hint that explains this problem, but I fixed a few errors. Please try again with r2627. If that doesn't help, please keep the ovm_*.img files and post a link to them. Gerd
