Shouldn't the default style then have a mkgmap:ferry so the default works as the regular Garmin map?
Revision 1425 introduces that in addition to style rules for unpavedness. My poor Edge 705 cannot avoid ferries, only highway/toll/u-turns/unpaved, so I did not test that style change. Marko
