If you do not give details, there is little I can do about this.
If changing them to something else, like the little blue square or whatever, is too difficult then I propose that they are removed altogether from the compiled map.
You are free to adapt the default style for your needs, like many have done.
Just zoom into any city in Germany to see what I mean.
