Do not know whether or not that the same pb, but two or three months ago, when I run splitter and mkgmap to create a gmapsupp.img file, against france.osm data, it took 4 hours to create it. On the same machine, with the same scripts, it takes now 17 hours. My main pb is with splitter as for example, it began to run yesterday at 11pm and end its run today at 11.56am. 13 hours to split, but the machine is really not a big one :-) Francois
Well in that case your machine is the culprit. France splits in around 16 minutes for me. And takes bout 60minutes to compile (12GB Ram, Intel Core somthing (4 cores).
Maybe, maybe, but tonight, using a backup of a splitter.jar file I compiled on february 19th, it took one hour to split France. The latest splitter code I compiled yesterday, took 17 hours to split France. Same data (osm data), same machine. ls splitter.jar* -rw-r--r-- 1 xx xxxx 286292 2011-02-19 22:59 splitter.jar.old -rw-r--r-- 1 xx xxxx 272603 2011-05-19 23:02 splitter.jar Francois --
