this might be asked for a millionth time or so, but a quick search didn't reveal much. are there any devices that support non-numeric mapname ? (not description). if not, maybe it's worth disallowing them by default (and providing an override switch like --really-non-numeric-mapname ;) ) just wasted 15 minutes on this, and i recall that i did the same when initially starting with mkgmap... -- Rich
