I have another suggestion: Since the overview config file is very much related to the styles, why not make a file called 'overview' in the styles directory that mkgmap reads by default (so --overview-cfg:.... is not needed, unless you want to point it to a certain file somewhere else). The overview file in the default style looks like this: # filter for overview map line:* point:* polygon:* Anyone who want to change the default can find it easily. --overview-cfg:.... is optional, if not specified, mkgmap looks in the style directory for the file "overview" If this file does not exist, the overview map will be empty (old situation).
