the patch doesn't change the default style. The patch works more or less like the lines in Minkos sample: http://gis.19327.n5.nabble.com/Patch-v4-distorted-lines-with-make-opposite-c... It first creates a copy of the way, adds some tags to allow bicycle routing in both directions and passes this copy to the style. Next, it adds bicycle=no to the original way and passes that also to the style. Of course, this only happens when the option --make-opposite-cycleway or --make-cycle-way is active.
