Hi Alexandre, the prefixes are only removed when you zoom out and the full name would be too long to be displayed. Sometimes MapSource decides to render the shortened name instead, sometimes it is not rendered. I think this depends on the "level of details" setting. The file LocatorConfig.xml is shipped with the mkgmap.jar and contains other country specific information, e.g. <country name="Brasil" abr="BRA" streetBeforeHousenumber="true"> <variant>BR</variant> <variant>BRA</variant> <variant>Brazil</variant> </country> Follow the link which I pasted to browse the file content or extract it from the jar mkgmap.jar\LocatorConfig.xml I think you can use a modified version of the file when you place it into a directory \resources in the working directory of mkgmap. Section 2 is used by mkgmap to know what language(s) is spoken in each country. You don't have to tell mkgmap what language, but what country.
