If the program doesn't execute faster, please send me some info: I use these parms to measure performance on windows: java -XX:+PrintGCTimeStamps -XX:+PrintGCDetails -agentlib:hprof=cpu=samples,depth=20 -Xmx1600m -jar mkgmap.jar ... your normal mkgmap parms > mkgmap.out This produces a file mgkmap.out with some infos about GC and a java.hprof.txt with performance values.
