Hi Mark,
As this has now been merged to trunk I thought I'd have a look as I've never properly tried to use it before. I'm sure that I'm missing something as having compiled a map with the --road-name-pois option I don't see anywhere I can search for road names.
Well, with the original road name pois code they used to appear under a category called "geographic points" or similar. With the introduction of the new all-singing, all-dancing POI address stuff, they seem to have disappeared. Perhaps Bernhard knows where they have gone?
I think it really depends on the garmin device how it handles the road pois. On my Nuvi 360 I never found a special category for the road pois. The only way to use them is to do a search over all pois. I'm pretty sure that my changes didn't change anything in that area. I personally always use --road-name-pois=0x2900 for my maps because the default value 0x640a lack support for address information.
Thanks Berni.

I can't find anywhere in the Find menu that lists road names or addresses when I make a map * without --road-name-pois * with --road-name-pois * with --road-name-pois=0x2900 This is on a Garmin 60CSx. The map I'm generating can be downloaded here: http://osm.nix.is/latest/default/gmapsupp.img
