That is interesting I will look into it thanks. I have recently changed it to allow different map name and map id, but didn't consider this particular case. Steve.
The cause I have found in my mkgmap args file:
mapname: 30010040 description: testmap input-file: 10010040.osm.gz
It causes mkgmap to crash if I search for adresses.
