Hi Charlie, I recently noticed that my method of leaving the mapname: etc out didn't always work as expected :-( What always worked for me, was saving the contourlines files as *.mp instead of img with gpsmapedit. My contourlines are transparent but can have the same draw priority. Process the *.mp tiles together with your osm.gz tiles to make img's.
