Hi WanMil,

quite a lot of files for one directory. Did you think about something like an index fie?
I think about a file list containing all 131072 flags like s,l,m for sea-only, land-only, and mixed.
The order of the data in the index file must match your grid so that mkgmap can read it and set a flag
in a grid which is kept for that. Before searching for the sea_x_y.osm.gz file you just check the index grid,
if it says land-only or sea-only, there is no need to  read the file.

Subject: [mkgmap-dev] [PATCH v3] Precompiled sea

Hi,

I've changed the format of the precompiled sea files. It now uses common
OSM or PBF format.

As an advantage it is possible to modify the precompiled files using
JOSM. So floodings can be removed with JOSM.

The disadvantage is that the files are bigger in size (at least for
.osm.gz). But I think that's acceptable.

I've uploaded all precompiled sea tiles to
http://www.navmaps.eu/wanmil/sea_2012_03_31.zip. The zip file must be
extracted to a directory and this directory must be given in the
parameter --precomp-sea=<dir>.
It is now also possible to use the --generate-sea=polygon or
multipolygon option and the --generate-sea=land-tag=xxx=yyy option.
