I have a brand new Nuvi 255 and it doesn't have "lane assist" but it does tell you to "keep left/right" or "exit left/right" as appropriate.
I suspect that the lane assist feature is not available on the cheaper Nuvis.

I can't believe that it works. We don't even have the data in Openstreetmap (in general), nor anything about lanes in the style-file. Probabely again someone viewing osm map, but routing on underlying CN (without knowing about this).
