If you are using the latest version then it is not a known problem and so could you post the actual error message to help track down the problem please.
With 1299 it is ok (no error). Tried it on my Etrex, Adress search is working more or less the same as with the road-name-pois option. For addresses far away from the current position it is still needed to set the reference point near to the destination via the etrex menu. Still have to test on my nuvi. Chris
