That's a misunderstanding. The rules need to be assigned before setting the garmin type. I meant that you might be able to move the include directive to the point just before you start with assigning the garmin types. That's what I have done in the default style.
Okay - that's how I thought it would work. Could maybe maybe the syntax be changed from mkgmap:access:MODE=YES/NO to mkgmap:MODE=YES/NO -- till now it was MODE=YES/NO so mkgmap:MODE=YES/NO would be enough. I don't think it's confusing, but it saves space in the lines/pois file without being ambiguous - I think :access is a bit superfluous.
