Ok, using the data from geofrabrik I created a map for you: http://osm.thkukuk.de The page is in german, but I think you will find the map for italy ;) The archive contains a installer for MapSource, but you should make sure that neither mapsource nor basecamp are running if you install the map. I only see a rectangle in the upper right corner which is not ok. Don't know why that is, else on a quick view it looked ok for me.
