Perhaps, the mappers should put some effort into cleaning up/validating the data? Absolutely we should. I had thought things were better than they seem to be. But computing routes on a dataset with problems should still 'work', where work means you get a route that's obviously nonoptimal. I will try smaller routes and try some local data fixups and see if I can find out more information about what's going wrong.
